PURPOSE

 

 

Springfield Hotel Lodging Association (SHLA) represents the finest hotels in Springfield, MO along with hotel partners like the Springfield Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, Springfield Sports Commission and hotel vendors/supplies. The purpose of this association is to serve and unite representatives from member hotel properties and related industries, conducting business in the City of Springfield, for the promotion and protection of the travel and tourism business, with particular attention to the following:

• Promoting the industry to benefit not only the travel and tourism industry but also the community it serves.

• Fostering cooperative action in advancing, by all lawful means, the common purposes of its members.

• Providing through publications, meetings and seminars educational information to members regarding:

1.  Laws, governmental regulations and legislation.

2.  Improvements in services, products, ideas and standards to increase operating efficiency and professionalism.

3.  Encourage lawful and ethical conduct.

 

• Maintaining cooperative relationships with allied industries and organizations.

• Sponsoring mixers, trade shows and other events to ensure and promote hospitality.

• Providing services for its members that are within the scope of a representative trade association.

• Supporting Education by providing mentoring opportunities and scholarship opportunities each year to

college students studying hospitality.

• Employing 20,000 people in Greene County within the leisure/hospitality industry
